VK2735
VK2735 is a GIP receptor agonist in the GLP-1 Agonist class. VK2735 co-activates the GLP-1 and GIP receptors, the same pairing as tirzepatide. GLP-1 receptor activation slows gastric emptying, enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion and reduces appetite through hypothalamic and brainstem circuits, while GIP receptor activation contributes additional effects on insulin secretion and adipose tissue metabolism that appear to add to weight reduction beyond GLP-1 alone.

How it works
Each step shows whether the sources Peptide Library has reviewed include that kind of research. Counts are reviewed sources, not every study ever published. Reviews and programme summaries that describe human use are shown as "reported", not as trials, and registered trials without published results are listed but not counted. A higher step means research has progressed further; it does not mean a compound works better or is safer. Compounds whose evidence has not been reviewed yet show "Not reviewed" instead of a guess.
Peptide Library's VK2735 profile summarises 5 cited studies listed in the Science section, the compound's regulatory status, and research-protocol parameters reported for it. It is a research reference, not medical advice.
VK2735 dosage evidence
VK2735 has no approved dosage. Published human dosing comes from the phase 2 VENTURE trial, which gave once-weekly injections under the skin from 2.5 mg to 15 mg for 13 weeks to adults with obesity or overweight without diabetes; mean weight loss ranged from 9.1% to 14.7% against 1.7% with placebo. Phase 3 trials of 7.5, 12.5 and 17.5 mg weekly are under way, and an oral daily form has been tested in phase 2.

Where sources disagree
- The only peer-reviewed efficacy data are from a 13-week trial. Longer-term effects at these doses come from phase 3 trials that have not reported.
- VK2735 pairs GLP-1 and GIP agonism like tirzepatide, but its milligram doses are its own trial arms and are not interchangeable with tirzepatide doses.
- The oral and injected forms use different doses; an injected dose does not translate to an oral one, or the reverse.

Mechanism of Action

GLP-1 receptor activation slows gastric emptying, enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion and reduces appetite through hypothalamic and brainstem circuits, while GIP receptor activation contributes additional effects on insulin secretion and adipose tissue metabolism that appear to add to weight reduction beyond GLP-1 alone.

Is VK2735 FDA approved?
No. VK2735 is investigational: it is in clinical development and has not been approved by the FDA for any indication. Investigational status means trials are ongoing or complete but regulatory review has not resulted in approval, and efficacy and safety are still being established.
What peptides are similar to VK2735?
Compounds most often compared with VK2735 include Tirzepatide, Ecnoglutide, Efpeglenatide and Semaglutide. They are grouped by shared mechanism or research area rather than by equivalence, and their regulatory status and evidence base differ.
