Retatrutide Calculator Questions, Answered Carefully

Retatrutide is an investigational drug: it is not FDA-approved, and no approved product or label exists. So this site has no retatrutide calculator and gives no retatrutide amounts. What it can explain is how trials report amounts, why unit math is the same for every vial, and where the published research is.

Where retatrutide stands

  • Retatrutide (LY3437943) is a single peptide that activates three receptors: GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon. It is developed by Eli Lilly.
  • It is studied under an Investigational New Drug application and is not approved for any use. It is on WADA’s prohibited list.
  • Published trials include two phase 2 trials (NEJM and Lancet, 2023) and the first phase 3 trial, TRANSCEND-T2D-1 (Lancet, 2026). The TRIUMPH obesity trials had not published peer-reviewed results when this page was reviewed.
  • “Research” vials sold online are not the investigational product used in trials, and their contents aren’t verified by any regulator.

Peptide Library’s retatrutide research profile lists every reviewed study with its evidence tier, safety findings and regulatory status, and is kept up to date.

How clinical trials report amounts

  • Fixed amounts in mg, once weekly. Trial arms are defined by a mass of drug given on a weekly schedule, not by a volume or a number of syringe units.
  • Stepwise escalation. Participants reached their assigned level through scheduled increases, under supervision.
  • A formulated product. Trials use the sponsor’s manufactured product at a set concentration, so an amount in a paper never translates directly into units from a self-mixed vial.
  • Outcomes are per arm. Results describe groups of participants under medical monitoring; they are not a plan for an individual.

Read the amounts in their source, with their context: the phase 2 obesity trial, the phase 2 type 2 diabetes trial and TRANSCEND-T2D-1.

The unit math is the same for any vial

There is nothing compound-specific in the arithmetic. Any vial follows the same two steps: amount in the vial ÷ liquid added gives the concentration, and an amount ÷ the concentration gives the volume (× 100 for U-100 units). The general reconstitution calculator and syringe units guide explain them.

A calculator can only convert units. It can’t tell anyone whether to use an unapproved drug, or how much. That belongs to a clinician and, for investigational drugs, a clinical trial.

What the evidence doesn’t cover

  • Long-term safety beyond the published trial durations.
  • Use outside trial populations and outside medical supervision.
  • Products other than the sponsor’s investigational drug.

Peptide Library’s evidence summaries grade what the human research shows and doesn’t show, claim by claim.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a retatrutide reconstitution calculator?

Not here. The arithmetic for any vial is in the general reconstitution calculator; this site doesn’t provide compound-specific calculators for unapproved drugs.

Is retatrutide FDA-approved?

No. It is investigational and was not approved for any use when this page was reviewed. Check FDA for the current status.

Where can I read the retatrutide research?

Peptide Library’s retatrutide profile lists the trials with links to each publication.
