Sermorelin calculator

Sermorelin is GHRH(1-29)-NH2, a shortened analogue of growth-hormone-releasing hormone. Its published human dosing comes from acute pharmacology studies and is per kilogram of body weight, mostly intravenous, and DailyMed lists no current FDA-labelled sermorelin product. Research vials are usually 10 or 5 mg. The calculator does the vial arithmetic; the studied doses are listed below as reported, not converted.

Full research profile: Sermorelin. For any other concentration, use the insulin syringe units converter.

Why the Sermorelin study doses are not converted to units

The published human studies of Sermorelin report doses per kilogram of body weight, not a fixed amount. Turning them into milligrams or syringe units would mean assuming a body weight, so this page lists them as reported and converts nothing. A fixed amount quoted elsewhere is not the same thing as a weight-based dose.

The dosage section of the Sermorelin profile explains the route, population and limits of each study.

Common questions

How much bacteriostatic water do you add to a 10 mg Sermorelin vial?

There is no single correct volume: the amount of peptide is fixed and the water only sets the concentration. For 10 mg, 1 mL gives 10 mg/mL (100 mcg per unit), 2 mL gives 5 mg/mL (50 mcg per unit) and 3 mL gives 3.33 mg/mL (33.3 mcg per unit). More water makes each syringe mark hold less, which makes small amounts easier to measure accurately.

What dose does the Sermorelin calculator use?

None. The published human studies of Sermorelin report doses per kilogram of body weight (0.25 mcg/kg produced significant GH release; maximal response at 1–2 mcg/kg intravenously; ~50 mcg/kg intranasally equivalent to 1 mcg/kg intravenously), so they are not a fixed amount, and the calculator does not turn them into one. It converts a vial size, a water volume and an amount you enter into a volume and syringe units; the tables on this page show concentrations only.

What does one unit on an insulin syringe mean?

A unit is a volume mark, not an amount of drug. On a U-100 syringe 100 units fill 1 mL, so 10 units is always 0.1 mL; how much peptide those 10 units hold depends only on the concentration you mixed. U-40 syringes use 40 marks per mL, so the same volume reads as a different number of units.
