# Peptide Syringe Calculator

Enter the units on the syringe and the solution’s concentration to see the volume and the amount those units hold. Switch to “mcg → mL” to go the other way. Both U-100 and U-40 syringes are covered.

## Reading a syringe in numbers

`mL = units ÷ 100 (U-100) mL = units ÷ 40 (U-40)`

`amount = mL × concentration`

At 2.5 mg/mL, 20 units on a U-100 syringe is 0.2 mL, which holds 0.5 mg (500 mcg). Each unit holds 25 mcg.

## Amount per unit at common concentrations

| Concentration | Per unit | Per 10 units | Per 50 units |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 1 mg/mL | 10 mcg | 100 mcg | 500 mcg |
| 2 mg/mL | 20 mcg | 200 mcg | 1,000 mcg |
| 2.5 mg/mL | 25 mcg | 250 mcg | 1,250 mcg |
| 5 mg/mL | 50 mcg | 500 mcg | 2,500 mcg |

## U-100 and U-40 are different scales

Most insulin-style syringes are U-100. A U-40 syringe is marked 40 units per mL, so the same number of units is 2.5 times the volume. The calculator converts between them. More in [insulin syringe units explained](https://bestpeptidecalculator.app/guides/insulin-syringe-units-explained).

> Syringe units are volume marks, not IU. IU depends on the substance; a syringe unit is always 0.01 mL on U-100.

## Frequently asked questions

### How many mL is 10 units on a syringe?

0.1 mL on a U-100 syringe, 0.25 mL on a U-40 syringe.

### How much is in one unit?

The concentration ÷ 100 on a U-100 syringe. At 2.5 mg/mL, that is 25 mcg per unit.

### Which syringe size reads small volumes best?

0.3 mL and 0.5 mL U-100 syringes are usually marked every unit, while 1 mL syringes are often marked every 2 units.
