# Hexarelin (Examorelin)

Hexarelin (Examorelin), also called GHRP, is a research peptide in the Growth Hormone Secretagogue class. Hexarelin is a synthetic hexapeptide agonist at growth hormone secretagogue receptor 1a, structurally related to GHRP-6 and among the most potent releasers of growth hormone in the class.

Potent GHRP (examorelin) that raises GH and can desensitize with frequent use. Also studied for cardiac GHSR effects. Not FDA-approved. WADA S2.

Also known as: GHRP.

Categories: Fat Loss, Muscle/Recovery, Experimental.

## Classification

- Type: GHRP / research
- Mechanism class: Growth Hormone Secretagogue
- Development stage: Research only
- Regulatory class: Research compound, not FDA-approved

## Mechanism

Hexarelin is a synthetic hexapeptide agonist at growth hormone secretagogue receptor 1a, structurally related to GHRP-6 and among the most potent releasers of growth hormone in the class. A distinguishing feature is desensitisation: the growth hormone response attenuates markedly with repeated dosing over days to weeks, more so than with other secretagogues. It also binds CD36, a scavenger receptor expressed in cardiac tissue, and cardiovascular effects observed in animal models have been attributed to that interaction rather than to growth hormone release, making it a subject of study independent of the somatotropic axis.

Targets: GHSR.

Origin: Synthetic hexapeptide GHRP.

## Properties

- Molecular formula: C47H58N12O6
- Molecular weight: 887.0 g/mol
- CAS number: 140703-51-1
- Half-life: ~56–76 minutes (human PK studies)
- Studied routes: Intravenous

## Evidence

- Evidence level: Limited Human Evidence
- Highest documented: Early or uncontrolled human studies
- Human trials: 1
- Controlled human trials: 0
- Preclinical sources: 0
- Latest source: 1996

Each step shows whether the sources Peptide Library has reviewed include that kind of research. Counts are reviewed sources, not every study ever published. Reviews and programme summaries that describe human use are shown as "reported", not as trials, and registered trials without published results are listed but not counted. A higher step means research has progressed further; it does not mean a compound works better or is safer. Compounds whose evidence has not been reviewed yet show "Not reviewed" instead of a guess.

### Studies

## Safety

Side effects: Cortisol/prolactin rise; Hunger; Desensitization.

Risks: WADA S2.

Human safety basis: Limited human reports

Key limitations: No controlled human trial results in the reviewed sources.; Not approved by the FDA for any use..

## Regulatory status

Hexarelin (Examorelin) is not an FDA-approved product. It is sold for laboratory research and has no approved medical use.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is Hexarelin (Examorelin)?

Potent GHRP (examorelin) that raises GH and can desensitize with frequent use. Also studied for cardiac GHSR effects. Not FDA-approved. WADA S2.

### Is Hexarelin (Examorelin) FDA approved?

No. Hexarelin (Examorelin) is not approved by the FDA for any indication and is categorised as research-only. It has not been reviewed for safety or efficacy as a medicine, and published research should be read as investigation rather than established use.

### What is the half-life of Hexarelin (Examorelin)?

Reported half-life for Hexarelin (Examorelin) is ~56–76 minutes (human PK studies). Half-life describes how long the compound persists in circulation, not how long any effect lasts, and published figures vary with route of administration, formulation and the population studied.

### Is Hexarelin (Examorelin) banned in sport?

Hexarelin (Examorelin) is recorded here as prohibited in sport. Athletes subject to anti-doping rules should check the current WADA Prohibited List directly, since it is revised annually and classifications change.

### What peptides are similar to Hexarelin (Examorelin)?

Compounds most often compared with Hexarelin (Examorelin) include Ipamorelin, GHRP-6, GHRP-1 and Pralmorelin (GHRP-2). They are grouped by shared mechanism or research area rather than by equivalence, and their regulatory status and evidence base differ.
